Embrace the damn colour! Trust the unexpected in your Boudoir Shoot
I love wearing black as much as the next person, but trust me. Let’s do something different.
I'm Katie, and I am a professional photographer of over a decade, specialising in boudoir the last 5 years. I have worked with hundreds of women of all shapes, sizes, ages, cultures, backgrounds and beliefs. Yet all of them have come in wanting to change - wanting to feel stronger in themselves. And all of them have come out feeling exactly that.

“Are there any colours you're allergic to?”
This is my favourite question to ask. It gets a bit of a laugh, first of all.
“I don't know … I don't really suit orange…”
“Excellent. I'm gonna pull out some orange sets!”
Because the amount of people have told me they don't really suit orange - and then they put on the bloody orange lingerie, and they go, “oh shit, this looks really good!” And I go, “yaha” is insane to me.
Trust me, I love wearing black - black everything. My wardrobe is 90% black clothes, and I have white cats so you can imagine how fun that is, but I love getting colourful lingerie.

You're here for a boudoir shoot to do something different. So why not do something different with what you're going to wear.
I almost always stay away actually, from pulling out for my clients any black lingerie, because it's just kind of boring to be honest. Sometimes I'll pull out a couple of more statement black lingerie pieces … but everyone's got black lingerie in their own wardrobes. You're here for a boudoir shoot to do something different. So why not do something different with what you're going to wear.
I had this client, Hayleigh, who said to me, “my mum said, because I've got orange hair, I should never wear orange and I should never wear pink.”
And I said to her, “f**k what your mum says, I'm gonna put you in orange and I'm gonna put you in pink.”
She was hesitant at first - years of what her mum had said circling in her head - I could see it and I get it! Things my mum has said to me came up then. Thanks, mums!
But she trusted me. And she did it. And she looked really, really hot. And she loved it. She absolutely loved it. I don't think I have had a client so grateful and happy - she sent me a little gift box, it was the damn cutest thing. I still have the card.

This red set you see above that Sacha is wearing is one of my absolute favourites. It looks so good on everyone. That was another set that Hayleigh wore as well. At Poledoir, I have an extensive wardrobe so you don’t even need to worry about what to wear, I have you covered, girl.

I've also got some really fun sets. You'll see Jacinta below in the sexy burger set. Now, the sexy burger set was originally designed by one of my friends, Estelle, who is a pole dance costume designer, and a pole dancer.
She originally designed this set for a pole dance competition - naturally, it went viral, and she mass produced it. My friend here, Jacinta, wore it as part of her shoot, we got hungry and naturally we decided to order burgers.
We snapped this photo, which we thought was a laugh. I tried to tag the burger company, and asked them to sponsor us. They left us on read (which was quite rude, if you ask me) …
but I guess the point is that you're going out of your comfort zone anyway, in doing this shoot, if you want to wear a piece of black lingerie, that's okay.
But just make it the one.
And trust me, the person you have hired, the expert to give you the best lingerie from my extensive collection that I know you will look really hot in.
